Below are just a few of the most frequently asked questions that we hear from our customers.

Why should I replace my existing heating or air conditioning system?

It may be time to replace your heating or air conditioning system if it is old, inefficient, or in need of repair. A new system today can be as much as 60% more efficient than older systems made as little as 10 years ago. You can reduce the cost of monthly utility bills, as well as take advantage of rebates the state of Idaho has put in place to encourage making the switch to energy efficient products.

How long can I expect a new system to last?

If you have a qualified technician perform regular maintenance and service suggested for your equipment, industry averages suggest that an air conditioner should last 12-15 years and a gas furnace should last as many as 20-25 years.

Why do I need a Humidifier in my home?
Having a humidifier in your home is a very important tool that not many people take advantage of. It helps by limiting the growth of bacteria and viruses. Another reason to have a humidifier is to protect the house itself. Keeping a humidifier in your house helps to keep your interior such as hardwood floors, staircases, and hand railings from drying out and cheapening the appearance. It also helps to keep musical instruments, like a piano, in tune!

What is a Heat Pump?
A Heat Pump is a HVAC compressor that cools outside and heats inside. The unit has a reversing valve that changes the direction of the freon flow. It is cheaper to operate than a resistive heating circuit alone, and will work efficiently until the temperature drops below 35 degrees. When the temperature drops below the magic number, the restive heat is more effective.

What is involved in replacing an old system?
Aside from the placement of the new equipment, your technician will inspect several items and make a determination of whether or not these items need to be supplied or replaced. Some of the items include: ductwork, thermostat, filters, etc.
